- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh figs

Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and buttermilk, alternating between the two, and stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts and fresh figs.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
